FRC 2013 Frau POW! 5.0 - FIRST's Ultimate Ascent!
Frau POW! version 5.0 is our robot designed to meet the FIRST's Robotics Contest "ULTIMATE ASCENT" challenge. Our robot must collect and shoot flying discs into goals positioned at various heights on the playing field. By the end of the match, the robot must climb a 9 foot tall pyramed to score huge points. The animation for the game can be found here. Our robot will collect disks from the feeding station, load them in a hopper, and then shoot at any target from any location. The shooter elevates on a "clam-shell" to aquire any target. Our robot will feature automate drive motor control systems, shooter elevation sensors, and camera-based target aquisition. We'll climb the pyramid using our "clam-shell" design in combination with hooks mounted on a linear slide. You can examine our our Engineering / Design process here.
